Smith,....1768 (Volume 2). 2 volumes, the 2nd edition of each volume. 8vo., contemporary sheep, original red leather title labels on both spines present, lettered in gilt, with some small chips, mostly complete. Both covers detached from Volume 1 and the spine is very worn. Volume 2, the leather spine label is intact, and there is less general wear than volume 1, but a previous owner has covered the spine with clear plastic tape. Bookplate of George Grenville in each volume. Grenville was Prime Minister of England from 1763 to 1765. "Grenville's best known policy is the Stamp Act....which Grenville extended to the colonies in America....which instigated wide-spread opposition...." (The Boston Tea Party, etc.) (see Wikipedia).
