New York: Published by the American Anti-Slavery Society, 1835. Original Printed Wrappers. 12mo., 12pp. Very Good.
Third edition. Poem by Whittier on the front wrapper, "What, ho! - Our countrymen in chains!". Mott, "History of American Magazines, volume 1, 1741 - 1850, p. 457 states "Whittier had previously had a hand in the "Anti-Slavery Record"...." but apparently not the editor. The first 7 pages relate to slavery in St. Domingo and the West Indies. OCLC lists only microfilm copies. The entry for the Boston Public Library microfilm states, "This small monthly journal of the American Anti-Slavery Society, which was established by William Lloyd Garrison, was filled with stories of the suffering of slaves...."
