Publisher's 4 page promotional leaflet laid in, describes the book as, "A bright, original, quaintly humorous and charming, semi-Stocktonian piece of work." Set in Italy, an American business man is kidnapped by 'Brigands', refuses to pay a ransom and instead becomes the leader of his kidnappers and forms the "Travellers' Relief Association" to prey on tourists himself, and then falls in love with one of his victims while robbing a stagecoach.
